Where the Light Prays Over the Peaks
We chose the opposite direction on purpose, turning away from the familiar paths to see what Wyoming was quietly holding back. It was Labor Day weekend when we finally made the long two-hour drive into the Wyoming Range, a stretch of land we had somehow never truly explored until now.
What we found was not emptiness, but a deep kind of peace that settles into your chest and slows everything down. The kind of peace that feels like God has been there long before you arrived, arranging light over ridgelines and brushing morning gold across the valleys just for those willing to make the effort.
The sunrise softened everything it touched, spilling warm light over the peaks like a gentle reminder that beauty doesn’t announce itself—it waits. Rhonda trotted beside me like she belonged to the moment itself, steady and loyal, while I moved through the landscape with a growing confidence in being alone with the land and with God.
