Wings of Praise
There are moments in nature that feel almost too delicate to be real—like they’re held together by light alone. This hummingbird was one of them.
Caught mid-flight, it hovered in a beam of soft morning light, each wing moving so fast yet captured to perfection, as if time couldn’t quite keep up. The air around it felt alive—quiet, charged, sacred. I remember standing there thinking how God doesn’t just create beauty, He animates it with purpose. Even something so small carries a message too big to ignore.
Hummingbirds have always meant more than just beauty across cultures. In Mexican tradition, they are tied to love and to resilience, guided by stories of long journeys and unwavering strength. In many Native traditions, they are seen as messengers—reminders to notice the miracle of being alive, and to choose joy even when life feels heavy.
And I can’t help but feel that truth when I watch them. They don’t pause. They don’t give up. They move forward with impossible determination, wings constantly at work, as if they understand something we often forget: life is not meant to be held still, but lived in motion.
