A Legacy of Light
We’d driven past this spot more times than I can count, always saying, “One day, we’ll stop.” And then—on a frosted fall morning when the world felt still enough to hear God breathe—we finally did. ❄️
The old cabin by the river stood there quietly, wrapped in soft sunrise light. The sky slowly warmed from blue to gold, and it felt like the whole landscape was waking up just to show us what we’d been missing. I couldn’t help imagining the people who once lived inside those weathered boards… people who watched this same light spill across untouched land long before any of us arrived. There was something sacred about standing in their footsteps, realizing how God has been painting this same scene for generations. ✨
Wyoming has a way of humbling you like that. Of reminding you how resilient people are out here, how connected we all become to the land when we slow down long enough to really see it.
And while I stayed there soaking in every detail—the frost on the grass, the river moving like glass, the light wrapping the cabin in warmth. Afterwards Conor wanted to go fishing in a nearby pond. Somehow, even that felt like part of the story God was writing for us that morning… simple, peaceful, meaningful.
Moments like this remind us that sometimes beauty is waiting right where we’ve been passing by all along. 💛
