I’m getting invited to more people’s yards lately, and I’m loving it! Last weekend, I visited Brenda’s yard and had an unforgettable encounter with a Blue Heron. The wind was strong, the air was cold, and the heron was in the distance. I prayed that it would land where I was aiming—and sure enough, it circled the pond and finally landed right where I needed it! But just as I was about to take my shot, a Canada Goose, who had been in the yard already, seemed to get jealous of all the attention I was giving the heron. It honked and flapped, distracting the heron, and off it flew! Nature’s drama at its finest.
