Moose Notebook | A Woodland Blessing

I went searching for the sunrise, but the surprise came on the way home. As we drove down the mountain, two moose crossed the road: a mother and her calf. I turned around, hoping they might still be nearby.
God had a beautiful backdrop waiting. Evergreens surrounded them, and the soft, cloudy light made the scene feel like something from a fairy tale. It was the first time I had photographed moose in a setting like this. I love taking pictures on cloudy days, and this one gave me another reason why.
As I watched the pair, I found myself wondering about their lives. Where would they wander next? What could they smell beyond the trees? Where would they settle down to sleep? Every wildlife encounter leaves me curious about the world I only get to glimpse.
Before leaving, I did what I always do: waved goodbye and wished them a good life. Then I headed home, thanking Jesus for the encounter.
