January 2022, Fremont Lake, Wyoming froze clear. It looked amazing. We were the first on the ice that day. Being on a frozen lake every time is an experience. We don’t take it for granted.

Conor’s way of enjoying outside is fishing/ice fishing. Meantime I capture all that catches my eye.

I took all the photos on the same day. I love how the light touches Conor in the opening photo.

The ice was fascinating that day. It was like taking a walk in the Universe.

Every photo took me around ½ an hour to make it. First, I set the camera on my tripod. Then with the help of ND filters (Neutral Density), I can take the photos for 30”. My aperture is between 9 and 11. I do this combination for the texture to be as sharp as possible and give every photo a sense of depth. Next, I decide what to put on my frame. After that, I set the camera on a timer. I focus on what catches my eye and slide off, searching for another piece of the cosmos of Fremont Lake. I repeat the same photo at least ten times. When I’m satisfied with what I have, I move to the next spot and start all over.

I discovered new galaxies that day in the middle of the day!
