When we first arrived in Pinedale, I fell in love with the Wind River Range. For a whole year, the Wind River Range and I had a date every sunset. It is lovely to see the same place looking very different every day.
I mounted my tripod in the same place every time I was outside. I sat down on a log. I took photos every five minutes. Sometimes, I was there two hours before the actual sunset. It amazes me how the view constantly changes: the clouds, the light, the shadows around the mountains. The mountains like to wear different colors: gray, white, red, pink, yellow.
I remember one time in the spring when, before my eyes, it was developing what I call a National Geographic moment. Hahaha! I could hear and see at a distance birds arriving at a nearby creek. (I love having National Geographic moments; what I do for a living is inspired by them. I remember when I was a kid, my dad used to buy my older brother National Geographic magazines, and I used to daydream about taking photos of wildlife and the places)
On another occasion, I spent my whole morning plowing a path manually to have access at the same spot. That’s hard work, especially when it is done with one hand. I was very proud of myself!
These are my favorite 14 photos out of literally thousands. I hope you enjoy them. Let us know which one is your favorite!
