There are photographs that document what happened.
And then there are photographs that remind us how it felt to be there.
Chosen and Untamed is a collection of eight moments from Wyoming's wild places—moments that stopped me in my tracks and reminded me that God is always at work in His creation.
From wide-open sagebrush country to quiet wetlands and backyard feeders, each image carries a story far bigger than the photograph itself.
This collection is an invitation to pause. In a world that moves faster every year, these four moments reminded me that some of God's greatest lessons are found in stillness.
The pronghorn reminded me of freedom.
The heron reminded me of provision.
The hummingbirds reminded me of balance.
And the sandhill cranes reminded me of faithfulness.
Together, they tell a story about a creation that is both chosen and untamed—wild and free, yet lovingly held in the hands of its Creator.
These limited-edition prints will be available from June 16–22. Only 15 prints of each image will be released as 11x14 fine art prints on matte paper.
I hope these stories invite you into the same wonder, peace, and gratitude I felt while creating them.

Grace in Motion — Wyoming Pronghorn
Some days, creating art asks more of you than comfort ever could.
The Wyoming wind was relentless that morning—hot, dry, and carrying dust that stung my skin. Sagebrush scented the air, and the landscape seemed to stretch forever beneath an endless sky. I stood quietly, camera in hand, watching a pronghorn move through the open country as though it belonged to the wind itself.
Strolling. Alert. Untouchable.
For a brief moment, everything aligned. The light softened and wrapped around the pronghorn in a gentle glow. The wind seemed to settle. The noise in my mind disappeared. Standing there, I felt the kind of stillness God often places in the middle of the wild—easy to miss if you're rushing, impossible to forget once you've experienced it.
This photograph is about more than a Wyoming pronghorn.
It's about the feeling that came with the encounter.
The peace that settles into your chest when life finally quiets down. The freedom found beneath Wyoming's wide-open skies. The reminder that God often speaks through His creation, revealing His presence in moments that last only seconds.
When I look at this image, I'm reminded that beauty doesn't have to shout to be noticed. Sometimes it arrives softly, carried on the wind, asking only that we pause long enough to see it.
Grace in Motion is part of the Chosen and Untamed Collection and will be available as a limited-edition 11x14 fine art print from June 16–22. Only fifteen prints will be offered.

Provision at Dawn — Great Blue Heron in Wyoming
Some mornings begin before the sun. Before the noise. Before the demands of the day.
This was one of those mornings.
The air was cold and clean, carrying the freshness that only dawn can bring. The water lay moving softly under a Wyoming sunrise, reflecting ribbons of peace and light that slowly spread across the surface.
I stood waiting.
Not just for a photograph.
For a reminder.
Then, out of the quiet, a great blue heron stepped into view.
Every movement was deliberate. The water barely rippled beneath its feet as it moved through the shallows. There was no hurry. No wasted motion. Only patience, focus, and purpose.
Then it happened.
With astonishing speed, the heron struck. In a single instant, breakfast was secured beneath the warm glow of the rising sun.
Watching the scene unfold, it felt like more than a wildlife encounter. It felt like a lesson.
A reminder that God's provision is often found in the waiting.
We live in a world that celebrates speed and constant motion, yet creation often reveals a different rhythm. The heron wasn't rushing. It wasn't forcing the moment. It simply remained faithful to what it was created to do until the opportunity arrived.
That morning reminded me that beauty, purpose, and provision often appear when we learn to be still enough to recognize them.
This photograph captures more than a great blue heron hunting in Wyoming. It preserves a feeling—the calm of an early morning, the warmth of first light, and the reassurance that even in uncertain seasons, God remains present and faithful.
Provision at Dawn is part of the Chosen and Untamed Collection and will be available as a limited-edition 11x14 fine art print from June 16–22. Only fifteen prints will be released.
My hope is that this image brings the same sense of peace and quiet confidence into your home that it brought to me on that Wyoming morning.
Yin and Yang — Two Hummingbirds at the Feeder
Sometimes the most meaningful moments arrive when nothing appears to be happening at all.
That morning began like many others. The Wyoming air was cool and still, carrying the scent of damp grass and sagebrush. The sun had just begun climbing above the horizon, painting the world with soft golden light.
I was watching the hummingbird feeder, expecting the usual chaos.
Hummingbirds are known for their energy. They dart through the air like tiny fighter jets, chasing one another from flower to flower and feeder to feeder. Rarely do they sit still long enough to truly appreciate them.
But on this morning, everything was different.
Two hummingbirds landed on opposite sides of the feeder and simply rested.
One bird sat bathed in warm sunlight, its feathers glowing with color and life. The other remained in shadow, quieter and more subdued, yet equally beautiful. Together they created a scene that felt perfectly balanced, as though someone had carefully arranged every detail.
For several seconds, the world seemed to pause.
No movement. No competition. No urgency.
Just stillness.
Standing there, I couldn't help but think about how often life moves between light and shadow. Some seasons feel bright and joyful. Others feel uncertain and difficult. Most of us spend our time wishing for one and trying to avoid the other.
Yet God's creation reminds us that both belong.
Without shadow, we would never fully appreciate the light. Without struggle, we would rarely recognize grace. Somehow, through it all, God holds everything together.
That's what drew me to this photograph.
At first glance, it's simply two hummingbirds at a feeder. But the longer I look at it, the more I see a reminder of balance, perspective, and the quiet beauty that exists when we slow down long enough to notice.
This image invites us to pause.
To sit in the moment.
To remember that life is rarely one thing or another. It is joy and hardship, certainty and mystery, sunlight and shadow. And through every season, God's presence remains constant.
Yin and Yang is part of the Chosen and Untamed Collection and will be available as a limited-edition 11x14 fine art print from June 16–22. Only fifteen prints will be offered.
My hope is that this photograph brings a sense of peace into your home and serves as a daily reminder that even when life feels divided, God is still weaving everything together beautifully.
The Curved Bill That Told a Story — Sandhill Cranes of
Wyoming
I almost missed the detail that would become my favorite part of the photograph.
It wasn't the beautiful light. It wasn't the backdrop. It wasn't the astonishing sandhill crane.
It was the curve of a bill.
One of the adult cranes had a slightly curved bill, a small imperfection that caught the morning light in a way I couldn't ignore. The more I watched, the more I realized it made the bird unforgettable.
For more than two months, I followed this sandhill crane family near Pinedale, Wyoming.
I met them on cold mornings when frost still clung to the grass and wings. I watched them move through wetlands glowing with the first light of day. The air carried the scent of sagebrush and damp earth, and the only sounds were the distinctive bird call that the sandhill cranes make and the gentle movement of water.
Over time, they became familiar.
One parent always seemed alert, watching for danger while the other guided the chick through the river. Together they navigated wind, water, and uncertainty with a patience that felt deeply intentional.
Watching them reminded me of how much of life is learned the same way.
Not through perfection.
Not through speed.
But through patient guidance, grace, and the freedom to keep moving forward after we stumble.
That small curve in the adult crane's bill became a symbol of something larger. A reminder that imperfections often tell the most meaningful stories. The marks left by life's challenges don't diminish our beauty. They reveal it.
As I stood there watching this family, I felt God's presence in the stillness.
Not in dramatic moments or grand displays, but in the quiet faithfulness of a parent protecting its young. In the patience of the process. In the simple rhythm of creation carrying on exactly as it was designed to do.
This photograph is about more than sandhill cranes in Wyoming.
It's about family.
It's about perseverance.
It's about learning, growing, and trusting the One who guides us through every season.
The Curved Bill That Told a Story is part of the Chosen and Untamed Collection and will be available as a limited-edition 11x14 fine art print from June 16–22. Only fifteen prints will be released.
My hope is that when you see this image, you're reminded that our imperfections are not flaws to hide. They are often the very things that tell the story of God's faithfulness in our lives.
Bringing Wyoming Home
Every photograph in this collection began as a gift.
A sunrise. A wildlife encounter. A quiet lesson from creation.
As I look back on these moments, I'm reminded that God often reveals Himself in the places we least expect—in the patience of a heron, the freedom of a pronghorn, the balance of two hummingbirds, or the faithfulness of a crane family raising their young.
My hope is that these images do more than decorate a wall.
I hope they create space for stillness.
I hope they remind you to pause.
And most of all, I hope they point you toward the Creator whose fingerprints can be found throughout Wyoming's wild places.
The Chosen and Untamed Collection will be available June 16–22, with only 15 prints of each image offered.
Thank you for following along on these adventures and for allowing me to share the beauty God places before my lens.
